![]() ![]() The lack of the latter has annoyed a lot of previous PL users who were annoyed that they were forced to pay for an upgrade just to get access to new camera support. The version included with NIK is the "Essentials" version so it wouldn't get any updates associated with "Elite" functionality.īut it should still get quite a few minor improvements, including new camera support. Is this because (as Euell thinks) PL 5 is included with some other software, like the Nik Collection? Interestingly, it appears to me that PL 5.5 was the current version when PL 6 came out, so there have been five updates to PL 5 after PL 6 was released?! My memory matches Digital Nigel's: I think there have been a couple of instances where new minor versions of an outdated major version of PhotoLab came out, but they appeared to be mostly, maybe exclusively, to address integration with new version of other DxO products. Sometimes this was just to coordinate with a new FP or VP release. At most, there might be a final release about the time of the first release of the new edition. No, it didn't happen with previous releases. DxO FilmPack ESSENTIAL Edition reproduces the colors and grain of iconic films as closely as possible using an exclusive calibration procedure developed in the companys laboratories. Did this happen with previous PhotoLab releases? I went straight to version 5 after not buying DxO products for a few years. Is it typical for this to go on for months after the release of a newer version? ![]()
